How to set up a minecraft server

Setting up a Minecraft server can be termed as easy as counting 1, 2 and 3 while often people mislead other on various technical details on the matter, many people unnecessarily regard the installation as very difficult and demanding sound IT knowledge which by fact is not specifically accurate. If you are an average user and can follow simple instructions in this guide then I guess you won’t be having any problems in setting up Minecraft.

Initially you would have to an installation file which could either be a pack zip file or a .exe file and both  by the way are very easily accessible through here www.minecraft.net downloads section. Once you have the installation .exe file place it in a folder of your choice or on the desktop you should run it; if you have a zip file then you would have to first unzip it using a compression software such as WinRAR, etc.

Once you run the file the installation would be automatic and would not prompt for any options while after finishing a user would effectively be directed to a new screen which should have 3 log windows and a input bar at the lower right corner. A new user should type stop in it and continue.

Where ever you had stored the Minecraft .exe installation file go into that same folder and you should see a few new files that are installed there. If there are new files there then it means you have successfully installed Minecraft. Next open the ops file and put your Minecraft username in it to complete the task successfully.

The next two steps require for a user to port forward using his router and to do this one must visit www.portforward.com and find the router model. If you do all this successfully all you need to do to play is to give your ip address to other people so that they can join your games on Minecraft server.
